As of half past 7 we are most likely going to be open today.

Staff are trying to reach school but due to the distances they travel, we are unsure as yet of numbers.

Because of this we ask that ONLY children of working parents come in as normal at 8.45. Everybody else, please be patient and as soon as we know what is happening a text update will be sent out.

It looks as if the weather is going to play games with us again!! 
 
Please follow the usual procedures. We shall text you, inform HCC 'School Closures' website and update our own MJS website, with the latest information, as soon as we know any real news.
 
We must ensure the school site is safe enough for people to drive to from home. We then have to see if we will have enough staff to get into school from various distances, then decide if they could get out again - in case the weather threatens to worsen!! 
 
It's complicated and VERY annoying!!! Please wait for instructions. We shall try everything we can to open. However, there are many issues to consider.

School is open as normal today.

Please can you bring children in at normal time either through the front or the back doors.

The playground is a bit icy so please do not arrive too early and try to encourage the children not to make it worse, if you have to wait.

Good Morning All

We now have enough staff in to open the school. If it is safe to do so then we are happy for you to bring children in anytime from now so we are ready to go at 9.45.

Please can you come in through the main doors to sign in and the children will then head on to their classrooms.

If possible, please can the children bring in wellies and a change of clothes as we would like to take them out on the field for some good snow fun at the end of the day.

Marnel Junior School will open from 9.45am tomorrow, to allow staff to travel to school safely and paths to be gritted. 

Mists and temperatures of -5C are predicted. We shall ascertain how many staff we have available by then. 

We shall update our website and send text messages to keep you informed of our situation. 

After-school clubs and meetings shall be cancelled. Please use our main entrance and front door and take care!
